Nestled in the beautiful foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, Buckley’s campus is a place of both natural tranquility and energizing beauty. Our students learn, grow, and connect on an inspiring 18 acres dotted with centuries-old oak trees, wildflowers, and state-of-the art learning spaces.
All students, K-12, come to school to learn together on ONE CAMPUS every day. ONE drop-off destination for Lower, Middle, and Upper School students.
Our Green Transportation Program
Every Buckley family is required to register for a bus or carpool.
Morning buses arrive at school by 7:50 a.m. Afternoon buses leave promptly at 3:30 p.m. (2:30 p.m. Wednesdays), and late buses for Middle and Upper School students depart campus promptly at 5:45 p.m. (5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays).
Carpool Requirements
- Lower School: minimum of two students per vehicle
- Middle and Upper School: Minimum of three students per vehicle
- Lower and Middle/Upper School combined: Minimum of two students per vehicle

CAMPUS HISTORY
Buckley was not always located on Stansbury Avenue. In fact, since its founding in 1933, The Buckley School had several locations for different grade levels across Los Angeles. It consolidated all K-12 grades on one campus at the top of Stansbury Avenue in 1965.
The Buckley Timeline
- 1933: Buckley’s primary school campus opens on Doheny Drive in Beverly Hills
- 1940s: Classes begin at Robert Young Ranch, Tarzana
- 1951: Elementary school and Upper School division campus opens on Woodman Avenue
- 1959-60: The Riverside Drive campus opens and incorporates elementary grades from the Woodman Avenue campus
- 1960-61: Woodman Avenue campus is remodeled and modernized with the first air-conditioned classrooms
- 1964-65: Isabelle Buckley purchases the Glenaire Country Club for proposed consolidation of campuses
- 1965: Lower School classes begin on Sherman Oaks campus
- 1973: Complete student body consolidated on Sherman Oaks campus
- 1972: Gilley Field dedicated
- 1977: Roy Disney Family Pavilion dedicated
- 2012: Academic and Performing Arts Building opens
- 2013: Mathematics and Science Building opens
- 2016: The Center for Community and the Arts (CCA) opens
- 2017: The Quinn Martin Building re-opens, housing state-of-the-art visual arts studios and a strength and conditioning center
- 2021: The Media Tech Lab opens
- 2024-25: Lower School campus is renovated, with updates to art, dance, theater, science, the library, and administrative offices.
