Internships at Buckley provide an extended, project-based experience with a real world partner (expert, mentor or employer) who oversees the experience and ensures quality and outcome.
Some internships are offered within the school (Communications and Tech), but the majority are secured through student-led efforts. The Coordinator of External Partnerships supports students in their search while also sourcing new internship opportunities from our ecosystem.
Stream Team
Our talented student livestream team broadcasts all CIF athletic games hosted in Buckley’s gym and concludes the year with a live broadcast of our Senior Commencement ceremony, ensuring every moment is covered with energy and professionalism.
Tech Internship
Buckley’s Tech Interns assist the Educational Technology coordinator in the school’s audio and video needs, including drone footage, assembly recordings, and sound engineering during events.
Internships build:
At least 1 project-based deliverable, which ideally can be a Portfolio asset; this can be process or product oriented and should be documented.
- Example: a research paper; a deck; a video; an advertising campaign; a detailed proposal.
Use of relevant tools used by the partner organization to complete the task(s); development of a positive relationship with at least 1 Pro Partner (their liaison) or the broader team that builds social capital
- Example: a recommendation or reference upon completion
- Example: use of Asana, Illustrator, a CRM, social media platform(s), AI, etc
A clearer sense of where this type or work, role and/or organization fits into a student’s college and life plan.
- Example: end of project reflection around personal and professional growth
A clear sense of how the host organization works, their current priorities and possibly strategic insight; the larger industry/sector in which they operate.
